Pond Plants

Plants give visual interest to a pond, encouraging wildlife and can help to keep the water clear. Choosing the right plants can enhance your enjoyment of the pond, as well as that of visiting or resident wildlife.

We advise you to:

  • Purchase plants that grow to a suitable size for your pond.

  • Ensure you know the depth requirements and plant them following these guidelines.

  • Aim to cover half of the ponds surface with plants.

  • Include oxygenating plants.

  • Avoid potentially invasive plants.
